The Government is under pressure from riding groups to equal the number of bridleways in the country (currently approx 20,000 miles) up to the same level as footpaths (approx 91,000) miles to help reduce horses on the road/accidents while promoting outdoor activity and safe use of the countryside for all sexes and ages.
This will only happen if people sign the online petition. Please go to:-
http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/15341
to sign and help get riders equal rights to walkers/ramblers.
If they get 100,000 signatures they have to do something about it, so please pass this on to as many people as possible

AGM
Hope you all enjoyed the AGM, it was great to see so many Members there, the busniess side of things passed easily and quickly which left plenty of time for everyone to catch up with old friends, we all enjoyed the Quiz after supper and a big thanks to Luisa for her hard work in putting that together.
Keysoe Members "out and about"
Let us know where you have been and wnat you have been up to
 | These pictures were taken recently at Shuttleworth College, where members Sue Squirrell. Veronica Zwetsloot and Joy Jones were taking part in the first indoor driving competition of the season. Doug Jones was judging paces, Liz and Jane judged precision in the dressage phase, there was also an obstacle and cone phase, none of which looked very easy, and Sue Squirrell went home with a third place! | |

Trec Competition 28th August 2001
Well after weeks of planning, discussion, walking bridle paths, the cross country course and several lunches out the day of the competition arrived. We were very lucky with the weather and the rain held off so that everyone, helpers and competitors alike had the ideal weather conditions. We had 34 starters and we managed not to lose anyone! Judging by the favourable comments everyone had a really good day and enjoyed the cop, ptv course and the por ride. Many thanks to all the volunteers and helpers without whom we could not have managed such an event. Well done to all the competitors and your result sheets, rosettes and prizes will be posted to you shortly. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing despite several sleepless nights - and I would like to thank Sue Squirrel for giving up so much of her time to make this event successful. Without her input and help this event would not have happened. Also a big thank you to Liz Mitchinson who on the day wrestled with the computer scoring system and after a couple of hiccups produced the results which you should have seen by now on the club website. I would also like to thank Mary Weston who was our official BHS TD officer and her daughter Helen who assisted on the day. We do hope to be able to stage another trec event next year and hope that we get the same level of support and help to make it even more successful. (Hopefuly pics to follow soon)
